Question by  Brenda Hale (43)

What is the difference between Latina and Chicana?

Answer by  snessia (991)

Latina is the broader term. Latina is often applied to anyone from Latin America, the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries of Central and South America. Chicana is a term for Mexican-Americans or people of Mexican heritage. Latina is used very commonly, but for many Latinas it would be preferable for people to use the term for actual country of origin.
