What is the curriculum like at Charlotte Mason?

Charlotte Mason has a comprehensive curriculum covering such traditional subjects as mathematics, english and science with combined subjects such as nature study, picture study or hymn study. Furthermore, the curriculum covers the Bible and the plays of Shakespeare.

The Charlotte Mason method has three basic beliefs - that education is an atmosphere, a discipline of character, and a way of life. Students are often engaged in genuine, firsthand experiences, and quality literature is essential. Traditional textbooks are not used, but rather fresh, new literature.
