The cost of an entirely new engine is going to be rather expensive. For a used engine, your looking to spend close if not more than a couple thousand ($2000). A new engine will be worth more than that. Closer to four thousand. It would be cheaper to find what's wrong with your engine and replace just a part.

You will have to have an estimate done. Make sure to get more than one quote on the car though. You should ask around to find out, what it would cost to get it fixed. It may not be much to fix hopifully. Look for the best quote on it.
