There is really no "correct" cervical length. The average cervical length, however, should be between 2. 5 centimeters and 3. 5 centimeters (or 25 to 35 millimeters). To determine your cervical length, a doctor will take 3 measurements and use the shortest one.

The cervical length should be a minimum of 2. 5 cm and can sometimes dilate to over 10 cm during prior to giving birth.

A cervix should measure between 3cm and 5cm long. If your cervix is shorter than that you may have complications during pregnancy including late miscarriage and preterm labor. Your cervix can be measured with a ultrasound scan.
