Your cat might be ill. Some diseases that can cause rapid breathing or panting are heartworms and asthma. If your cat only breathes quickly after exercise it is probably okay, but if it is panting constantly or lying on its side and panting you should consult with a vet to find out how to treat your cat.

One common possibility is that the cat was just active for very long, just as humans began to breath fast after working out or doing a lot of physical activity. Another common possibility is that the cat has asthma or is allergic to something.

The cat could have lung problems, even pneumonia, or they could have allergies. If it continues, take them to the vet for an examination and perhaps some medication to take.

If the cat is breathing fast, it is sure that the cat is frightent by any one of their enemy or it suffering a serios desease. So we must confirm the correct reason and provide all fecilities to keep their health and mental condition, otherwise it become a punnishable offence from your part.
