I used to hate cleaning mine, so I know what you mean. Nowadays, I find the task fairly simple and easy. Here's what to do. Buy a bottle of CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) cleaner. Comes in a predominately green bottle. Soak the mouth piece for about 30 minutes and rinse well. Anything leftover will come out in the next cleaning.

To remove calcium build-up, soak a cotton ball in white malt vinegar and place it on the inside (where all the calcium has built up) has leave it for thirty minutes. The build-up should soften and wipe away easily.

An old 100% cotton t-shirt works well. Loosen and remove the reed and gentley rub from the outside of the tip to toward the opening. Second wipe the inside with your finger or a wooden chop stick. Let dry a few minutes and reattach reed. Cleaning "kits" are sold at most music stores.

Using dishwashing detergent and warm water, soak for 5 minutes, making sure not to submerge the cork. Using a soft cloth, wipe away any remainig residue. Apply cork wax.
