Depending on dog's size, at least a 5 foot fence is optimal. You can choose a traditional fence or a underground fence and shock clooar. Beyond that, the decision is mostly based on aesthetics, as they are both very effective.

First off, it depends what type of dog you are getting. If it is a small breed, wood fencing should be sufficient at 5ft minimum. For medium breeds, I would suggest concrete bricks or a wood fence at a 6ft minimum. For large breeds, I would suggest concrete fence only.

My recommendation is an electronic fence. These give you the flexability to customize your fencing area. It also allows you to take your fence with you when you travel or move. The cost is significantly less than traditional stucture fencing and will not damage your property or be an eys sore for visitors. Hope this helps

Chain link fences are best for canine purposes as they do not rust and are very strong. They are far superior to wooden fences in that they do not require maintenance and and dog cannot chew or damage them.

While Invisible fences work well with smaller dogs, they don't work well with larger breeds. I like a chain link fence that will allow the dog to see out.

one could suggest the electronic dog's fence as the best type of canine fence. This type of canine fence would provide the necessary safety and security for the dogs to move freely.
