The best time of year to over seed your yard will probably be in the early spring. This is because your seeds may over heat in the summer.I recommend that you water them regularly and soil them well. Another important factor is to bury them deep so that birds and rodents cannot eat the seeds.

You can overseed pretty much from late april all the way to the first week of october. Overseeding in the spring will obviously give the seed a longer establishing time.

It depends on what you are overseeding if it is the lawn you need to do it in the fall that way you can put it all down then let it lay under the snow for the winter and it will germinate and grow in the spring and no one will ever know you put it there in the fall.
