I personally think that the gliders are the best. The reason I prefer those is because they just seem much more comfortable, so long as they are have padding. After all a wood seat is not as comfortable. Not only that you won't accidentally rock over your pet's tail.

It depends on what you are looking for in a rocking chair. If you are looking for a chair to put in a baby's room to rock it to sleep, a glider would probably be best because they make little to no noise as they rock. A glider is also designed for the comfort of the adult doing the rocking.

There are many styles like the old fashioned kind that is wood and just rocks. There is the glider style which some prefer but I've only seen cheap one's in stores. There is rocker-recliners which can vary in price and quality which most all furniture stores carry.

The best kind of rocking chair is a glider. They rock, but because the rocking mechanism is spring based and not dependent on a curved piece of wood, you are far less likely to fall over.

rocking chairs come in many diffrent styles but I am going to assume you are talking about the all wood style If I had to choose I would buy amish but the most important facts are that it was made from one solid piece of wood and not fitted together

The most comfortable rocker is one that comes with a rocking foot rest. Amish make fantastic ones. It needs a cushion for both parts. The hard ones are just that, hard!
