Horoscopes, as found in a newspaper, or a daily website, only take into account one's sun sign. Sun signs are your run-of-the-mill horoscope. For a more accurate (i.e. "true") horoscope, one needs to have a birthchart done. That requires birthplace and time, and includes all the planets and houses.

A horoscope really depends upon a person's natal birth chart. If you really want to understand how a day is going to work out for you, you need to understand how to read astrological charts. You can get online birth charts for free.
