Our vet prescribed our dog a certain kind of science diet. We had to buy it directly from the vets office. She had to have this special dog food for a few months and then was able to continue with regular dog food. Our dog is small so the cost wasn't that bad.

Well, I would say Pro Plan. I have been using Pro Plan and Royal Canine for years and my dog is very healthy indeed. Royal Canin is as good but you might have some problems to find it in the place you live, Pro Plan will be sufficient for your dogs. Contact a vet, though

One of the best dog foods currently on the market is called 'Blue'. You can get it at your local PetSmart, and they can give more you detailed information on it. Be sure to stay away from dog foods with cornmeal in it, look for something with rices, lamb, fish, or meat. Eukanuba makes foods specifically for individual breeds.

I would read the bags and see which type of food will help your dog out the best. I would give him a recognizable brand, do not go for those cheap ones that no one knows very much about. I also might even go to the vet and ask him what he thinks.
