It stands for System Development Life Cycle or Software Development Life Cycle. It is a guideline for developing systems or software which includes 10 phases which include: initiation, system concept development, planning, requirements analysis, design, development, integration and testing, implementation, operations and management, and disposition. It is used to be sure there is a need for the system or software.
