According to several sources on how to hang a dartboard, in order to be set at regulation height a dartboard should be hung so that the center of the board is 5 feet 8 inches from the floor. This rule stands for boards meant to be used with either steel- or soft- tipped darts

When hanging a dart board the center of the bulls eye should be 1.74m (5'8") from the floor. This is the world standard declared by the World Darts Federation and is played as such in most areas.

The center of the bullseye should be 5 feet 8 inches above the floor. That is my eye level, so I can always check a board.
