It is essential for the breeding of highly priced shrimp, i.e. freshwater melon shrimp. The shrimp couples would only procreate in an environment properly designed for a romantic atmosphere, otherwise no little shrimp at all.

Using coral pink sand in a freshwater tank will raise your pH balance to a level that is suitable for African Cichlids. It is better than using a powder because it cannot raise pH to deadly levels if too much product is used.

Wash the pink coral sand. Add 1 to 1 1/2" uniformly to the bottom of the tank. Every 2-4 weeks skim the fish waste from the top l;ayer of sand, and every 8-16 weeks half the sand bed should be stirred to release trapped gases.
