There are at least seven San Diego jails. The San Diego Central and City jails, Las Colinas, Vista Detention Center, etc. The levels are based on severity of crime. Some jails like Vista Detention Center handle inmates who have committed low level crimes while other locations (Central jail) are mostly responsible for holding on to individuals for arraignment or trial.
