Call a pest control specialist so they can determine if you have a rodent, snake or other animal making the holes in the grass. This way you are not wasting money on treating an incorrect problem.

The usual culprit for holes in grass is your dog or a neighbor's dog. The feces poision the grass as they break down.

Depending where you live, and what you mean by holes, you can have some pesky problems. Where I live up north, chipmunks, voles, and communities of black ants can cause holes. In other parts of the country you may have HUGE holes due to groundhogs or moles. Overhanging evergreens or oaks can cause dead turf that looks like holes.

Animals could be making holes in your yard. What animals they are will depend on the area you live in. Could be insects or rodents. Possibly squirrels digging.

In all likelihood, this is a small animal. If there are single mounds, it is probably a gopher or digging animal. If there are tunnels, then it is probably a mole.
