Little's Law states any system in which 'customers' enter and leave according to some rule, distribution, etc., the average number of customers in the system is equivalent to the product D*L, where D is the average time in-between customer arrivals, and L is the average length of a customer's stay.

The Little's Law has something to do with math, but this law also helps managers and owners of business that has a service to people or products. In a grocery store, a manager can figure out the average waiting time in the express lane compared to the number of customers in the express lane for a set period of time.
