Find a good location, make sure that parking in convenient. Determine what type of product you would like to focus on. If you are thinking to specialize in a specific category of food make sure that the demand in the area is there for that product.

The key point in starting a small grocery is location, location, location! Once you find a lucrative location you must contact vendors for breads, snacks and cigarettes. You have to contact the lottery in your state if you want to carry lottery products and apply for a license to sell. Everything has to be approved by your local town hall also.
