Uusally obtaining a pet license is a pretty straight forward activity. Some cities and towns do not require pet licenses but if your area does it uslly means going to the city hall paying some amount usually 10 to 20 dollars and showing that the animal has the proper vacination requirements.

A rabies vaccination certificate for the pet that covers the year you are applying for and a nominal fee, around $12.

After you purchase/adopt a pet, take him/her to a veterinarian. After your pet has been vaccinated and cleared as healthy, the vet will tell you how to obtain a license.

It may be different some places. Here, just take picture ID for you, proof of resedence (phone bill ect. ), proof of spay or neuter for discount, and 45$-75$ to the courthouse or SPCA. They will want dogs age and name as well
