You're going to need certain parts, the AC outside coils of the same brand and type are required as well as basic AC tools. Most AC repairs on this level are not "novice friendly" as there is a lot of electrical work involved. Consult a licensed electrician or consult your user manual before self-repairing.

A water hose, a pump-up sprayer, and a non-corrisive foaming coil cleaner(Heating\AC supplyco. Mix according to instructions on the jug or bottle in the sprayer. Make sure the power is off!!! to the unit. Spray it on the coils and wait then rinse with low pressure water hose and repeat.

Turn off unit, anything you clean will be sucked into the unit. If water is used, allow the unit to dry completely before turning the power on. Normally a horsehair brush, bench brush, or heavy paint brush will be able to clean away most of the debris. Occasionally the garden hose will be needed to rinse off dirt and dust.
