It should be planted in full sun or partial shade although more sunlight promotes better flowering. The Sweet Broom only needs to be watered deeply once a month. Feed with fertilizer 4 times a year but make sure that the fertilizer is one that has a high ratio phosphorus in proportion to nitrogen.

The Sweet Broom plant grows several feet across, so it needs a container or spot in the garden with plenty of room. Water it until the roots are drenched, then let the soil dry until it has a root system. It tolerates direct sun, but does best with indirect light. Trim back branches about one-third after flowering is finished.

Water your plants frequently but allow to become mostly dry between waterings. If you are going to plant in a pot first then use a decent potting soil, but remember these become very large. Have in the sun. Watch for spiders and remove them from plants.

Basically what you can do is plant some seeds into some nutrient rich soil and then watch it grow. Water it daily as well that way your broom plants will look great.
