Common dog behavior during a storm is typically to be cautious, but it can be very scary for a new puppy that has never experienced it before - especially if it is a bad storm. It there's thunder with vibration that can be felt, then the puppy will have no idea what's going on.

Some dogs are fine during storms but others get very scared and bark or shake. When the next one happens don't act like it's a big deal. Just keep talking and playing with the puppy so it doesn't get negative vibes from you.

Most dogs react poorly to thunderstorms as they are loud and disorienting. Most likely, as a puppy, your dog will react angrily by barking and growling or in a scared manner by cowering and whimpering. Be prepared for a few bladder accidents since this is his first storm.

Many dogs will bark or howl during a storm. Many will be scared and try to hide some where like under the bed.

Many dogs are not affected by storms at all but there are some that get absolutely terrified during storms. If your dog is one that is easily scared you should do all you can to comfort him/her.
