This problem could be caused by low transmission fluid levels, a broken band in the transmission or a worn out gear. Another more unlikely cause is a broken shift linkage.

It does not have to do with the make or madel of your car. Failire to shift into reverse is caused by a worn clutch or cracked transmission.

It could be a number of things first I would check a sensor on your transmission. It could be the transmission is going bad even, check local junkyards for a replacement. The shifter could be stuck in park unless it will go everywhere but reverse. I hope this helps sorry if I couldn't be more assistance to you.

you should try tighting up your bands and putting more fluid in your tranimission. and i would give it a tune up so it will run really good. or you need a new one
