Alpha hydroxy is a mild acid that is added to some cosmetics to dissolve the bonds that keep dry skin flakes attached to the skin. It sloughs off the flakes, revealing the fresher skin underneath. You may experience some stinging or irritation when using a moisturizer with alpha hydroxy - I did - a mild stinging that went away quickly.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are a type of acid commonly found in cosmetics and skincare products. AHAs include glycolic acid, lactic acid, and citric acid. These acids are typically used to reduce wrinkles, decrease signs of aging, treat hyperpigmentation, and improve the appearance and feel of one's skin.

Alpha hydroxy acid, also known as AHA, is a chemical exfoliant. It exfoliates your skin by dissolving the upper layer, revealing younger, newer skin underneath. This way, it can make your skin look younger. But be careful to not overuse it, though: it can also irritate skin.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) is a product that is often found together with BHA in skincare products that aim to reduce wrinkles, sunspots and acne. It is an excellent exfoliant that will be more effective than a manual scrub.
