A vector can be any physical quantity which has both magnitude and direction. The magnitude of the vector determines the amount of physical quantity and direction tells about the line of action of the quantity.

A vector is a quantity that describes both "how much" there is of something and in "what direction. " For instance, force is a vector, because you can have a lot of force, or a little, and you can apply it in any direction. Snother example of a vector is velocity, since you can go fast or slow, in any direction.
