A Tufted duck is a medium-sized diving duck, primarily of Northern Europe and Asia. The Tufted duck has a dull black back and tail, bright white underparts, and a black head with a purple sheen. The head is crested, the "tuft" after which the bird is named.

A Tufted Duck (scientific name: Aythya fuligula) is a species of diving duck found in Europe and Asia. They also have a large winter migration range and have been observed in India and Thailand, as well as Alaska, California, and Maine in the United States. The male is all black except for white sides, a blue-grey bill and yellow eyes.
