What is a quick fix for a leaky furnace?

If you have a steam boiler, shut the boiler and remove your relief valve ,add 2 cups of Quaker instant Oatmeal and reinstall the relief valve. Start it up and with in a few hours you problem will be solved. This could also be done with a hot water boiler by adding a boiler water boiler sealer.

If by leaky, you mean the furnace gives off a gas smell, this method is used by professionals: Let the furnace cool after turning the thermostat way down. Spray over each junction and union a solution of mildly soapy water--watch for bubbles, tighten that union. Proceed until smell is stopped.

You can use heat resistant duct tape to block hot air leaks. If its a gas leak you can try J&B engine epoxy.
