A Hetzer is a German light tank destroyer from World War 2. It's original name was Jagdpanzer 38(t) and the name Hetzer was not commonly used at the time of it's function. Based on modified pre-war chassis of the Czechoslovakian Panzer 38(t), it was to be more cost effective. Using an already proven chassis avoided common mechanical problems.
