Ibuprofen is always a great place to start. Muscular, tendon and ligament pain responds well to a good hefty dose - 600 mg, three times a day for 5 days. The scapular muscle can also be taped into a supportive position. Ice can be used. Physio is very effective. Try acupuncture.

Treatments include "resting" the area. No medium to heavy lifting for 2-3 days allows muscle to become less inflamed. Also, lay flat on floor to rest shoulders. Additional treatments: ice packs, yoga, anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen),acupuncture and avoid stress. Diet high in protein(builds the muscle) and high carbohydrates(energy for muscle to do so).

Well for the scalp, you can apply natural oils to it. They actually help. But I suggest massaging the area deeply for some fast relief.

Scapula pain can be treated with a good massage. You might also take an anti-inflammatory like advil or ibuprofen. It will usually relieve pain.
