What impact did Ulrich Zwingli have on Switzerland as we know it today?

There's not much written about him.

Answer by  Ken56 (1160)

Zwingli can be compared to Martin Luther in that he was a reformer and an agent which brought Protestanism to Switzerland. Thus, his effect on the country today has mostly to do with the religious orientation of Swiss society. Without Zwingli, Switzerland would have been dominated by Catholic Rome, but is now more pluralistic in terms of religion.
