What happened to the "Tour of Duty" TV show?

Unfortunately it got canceled before the official "ending" of the show, the last aired episode featured mark and Isabella finally showing their feelings for each other but unfortunately mark Lawson succumbs to a fatal heart disease a few scenes later in the show, it was very touching up until the end.

The last episode shows the effects of an unsuccessful raid to rescue POWs behind enemy lines. Some of the team return home to deal with their injuries and post-traumatic stress.
