What happened to Fred Weasley in Harry Potter?

He was my favorite character, along with his twin.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but he dies toward the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I don't want to spoil it more by telling you who he was fighting alongside or against, but I can say that his death hit me hard and I haven't read the book again since.

Fred Weasley and his twin brother George left Hogwarts in order to start a joke shop, but both rejoined the students from Hogwarts to participate in the battle of Hogwarts against Lord Voldemort. Fred was killed in this battle, when an errant spell cast by one of Voldemort's Death Eaters hit him square on, killing nhim instantly.

Fred Weasley was a member of Dumbledore's Army and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts that took place in the 7th book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. During the battle, he was fighting alongside his brother Percy, when he was killed by one of the Death Eaters. George Weasley later named his son Fred after his brother.

Fred Weasley was one of the older brothers of Ron. He and his twin George opened a Joke Shop. In The Deathly Hallows George lost an ear and Fred was killed in battle.
