The Mountain Meadows Massacre was the mass killing of a group of people traveling from Arkansas to California. It happened in 1857 on September 11th, and over 100 children, men and women were killed. It was done by a group of Mormons with the assistance of a local group of Indians.

In 1857, there was a massacre of people on the Fancher-Baker emigrant wagon train at Mountain Meadows, Utah. The people who conducted the massacre were local Mormon militia members and Paiute Indian tribespeople.
