What grade sandpaper do you use on granite?

If you don't want to damage it use a 30 grit or fine. If you want to smooth out rought edges use a 80 grit.

I would suggest that you try 30 grit or a very fine grit. However, if you want to smooth out the roughness I would suggest that you use 80 grit.

Regular sandpaper (silicone carbide) should be used starting with the finest grit to prevent damage (2500-15000). It is not suggested to polish granite in a "do it yourself" manner due to the fact that it will almost definitely scratch and a kitchen/bath remodeler or counter top specialist could done it quickly and inexpensively.

If you dont want to mess up the granite you may want to use a real fine grit sand paper maybe a 30 grit sand paper.

first off granite is the second strongest mineral on earth other then diamonds, your going to need the top grade sandpaper
