What gives sweet and sour mix its flavor?

Answer by  Jaquelynne (594)

Sweet and sour can be made at home using a simple sugar mix and citrus juice. The citrus could be from mainly lemon or lime. The simple sugar is a syrup you can find in any store.

The sweet taste comes from the syrup which is just sugar and water. The sour taste comes from lemon juice and lime juice and some time set perfectly by onrange juice or liquor but only a small amount. Some people add an egg white to the mix so the drink will be a little foamy.

The flavor comes from a combination of lemon and lime juice and sugar, often in the form of corn syrup. The Syrup provides the sweet taste while the lemon and lime give it the fruity, sour flavor.
