Serotonin is known as the "feel good" neurotransmitter. It assists with memory and thought but is best known for mood regulation. Depression is often caused by the "uptake" of serotonin. This, serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as Prozac help regulate mood and depression.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter - a chemical in the brain - that is associated with mood. Too little serotonin is related to depression. Serotonin is both produced and reabsorbed by the brain; many anti-depressants work by blocking the re-absorbtion.

Serotonin is a chemical that serves as a transmitter for passing nerve impulses. It also causes us to feel sleepy, increases appetites, and gives us a feeling of security. Medications to increase serotonin increase appetite and sleepiness, which is why we slow down and bulk up when we take them.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, i.e. it plays an important role in the nervous system. It is particularly important in the regulation of intestinal activity, but is also a major player in emotion. Serotonin deficiency can lead to emotional disorders such as depression, anxiety, etc. Serotonin supplements are frequently indicated when there is an emotional disorder caused by serotonin deficiency.

serotonin (serum plus tonic) is a compound which is present in the blood which constricts the blood vessels and act as a neuro transmitter.long term usage of serotonin will result in some signal problem in certain neurons and there by the transmission may be impaired.therefore long usage shouldbe only under medical supervision.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter. It is commonly prescribed for psychiatric or neurological problems. Without knowing more, it is impossible to tell exactly why your friend takes it.
