You could be bleeding, but not ovulating. It could be a sign of an estrogen deficiency or a problem with the ovaries, such as an ovarian cyst. It could be a sign of menopause, or early menopause if you are not yet middle-aged. Consult an OBGYN for a proper diagnosis.

You could be pregnant. Anything irregular in your cycle could mean that you are pregnant or there could be something else wrong. Go to your doctor just to see.

This does not sound like a full period. Instead its either spotting or breakthrough bleeding. It is likely a sign of a problem with your ovulation. You should work with your doctor to figure out why its happening since not having periods on a somewhat regular basis can sometimes leader to cancer.

Many things can upset your periods. Excessive use of birth control, hormone imbalance, stress, dieting, and too much exercise are but a few things.

If you are only having a one day period you probably are just spotting. It is natural to spot as long as you don't spot every single time you get ready to have a period. If you do spot everytime be sure to contact your doctor.
