What does it mean if a cat is polydactyl?

A polydactyl cat is a cat with extra toes on their paws instead of having a paw with the normal amount of toes which is 5 these cats usually have vetween 1 to two extra toes on one or more feet.

A Polydactyl cat simply means that some, or more rarely all, of their paws have been born with extra toes; generally its the front paws that are affected. There are a few breeders specifically encouraging this genetic strain, including the Ithacats, bred out of Ithaca, New York.
