Melanoma can occur in existing moles. Changes to monitor are the raising of a flat mole, scaling, bleeding, itching, and diameter increase to a size greater than a pencil eraser.
Melanoma is skin cancer. Most look like a regular mole, then it starts to get uneven in shape and not just round anymore. Also the color will change from brown to kinda red or black.
