You are supposed to use your natural line, however, eyebrow stencils can help you acheive even looking lines that are natural looking but defined. If you are good at doing your eyebrows then you really don't need stencils. If you tend to do each eye uneven, then try them.

They are just to make your brow a little fuller or add some color. You are correct in thinking that you should use the natural line.

Eyebrow Stencils come in many shapes and arches. Place them on your eyebrow and either fill in with brow powder or a brow pencil to get more natural brows.

Some people want more of a shaped look, so they use stencils for that. They can also be helpful in seeing where to pluck the extra or stray eyebrow hairs. Makeup is very selective, just depends on a woman's preference.
