When a dishwasher is overflowing the first step is to turn it off to make sure it doesn't cause a flood. The next step is to figure out why its leaking. You might not be able to do this on your own. If you have a warranty I would suggest calling it in.

It could be that the drain pipe is clogged or disconnected. You could try removing it and clearing it or call an appliance repair technician.

You need to clean it out and make sure that there is nothing stopping up any of the lines or pipes that circulate the water. There could be left over hard food or a part of a dish stuck.
