Rat droppings are usually dry, black and shaped like orzo pasta. They are solid and oval in shape. They may appear singly as well as in groupings. If there is a food source nearby, it is likely that there will be droppings around the food. There may also be shredded material nearby.

Adult rat droppings are upto 1/2 inches long, spindle shape with pointed ends. Droppings are unique because they take time to harden up. They constantly leave their droppings almost 4-5 times a day. When their droppings are fresh, they are dark in colour and supple in texture, but in three days they harden and lose their colour.
