Hives usually look like big angry red blotches. They may itch severely or just mildly. Sometimes it's like a burning sensation when they're scratched.

Hives look itchy red welts similar to a mosquito bite. They are slightly raised with flat tops. They vary in size and amount. They change size and move rapidly.

The difference between hives and a regular rash is that hives occur in various areas of the body. Also, hives are usually a solid swelling pattern, not a bumpy rash.

They will be red or skin-colored, itchy welts that are raised from the other skin surface. They can be small or large and then may spread so that they join together. They can also disappear and reappear shortly. Press a welt and it should turn white.
