An acceptance letter from a college or university will say that you have been accepted, and it will usually tell you what the next step is for you. It may give you information about financial aid, when school begins, or what information they still need from you.

Acceptance letters will tell you that you got into the college. The letter usually says what term you have been accepted for and when you should be at school. In most cases, the acceptance letter comes in a thick letter-sized envelope with lots of paperwork. Rejection letters are usually very think with a short letter saying "Sorry".

I'm pretty sure you'll know one when you see it. And if you have a reasonable GPA and at least modest scores on your SAT / ACT, you'll probably receive several of them. Unless you're applying to Ivy League or otherwise elitest schools.
