Hoss cartwright is infact not a real person and instead a fictional charicter from the hit 1960's programme Bonzanna. Hoss is a played by Dan Blocker and the show lasted until cancellation in 1973. Hoss is a fictional character, he therefore has not job, but in the show, his job seemed to be being led into trouble by his brothers.

Hoss Cartwright was a rancher on the TV show Bonanza from approximately 1959 to 1972, when he drown while trying to save a woman. Hoss's unfortunate demise was necessitated by the fact that the actor who played him, Dan Blocker, died unexpectedly following gallbladder surgery.
