What could the problem be if my bolens lawn mower has no spark?

If the mower has sat for a long period of time the magnetos could corroded. Remove the housing for the handle and try and clean it with steel wool.

First,remove the spark plug. Make sure it is clean. If not,clean it with a small wire brush or old tooth brush. Also check to make sure that the spark plug is gapped properly. Check the manual to find the correct setting.

problem could be the spark plug is bad,or the coil has went bad,no way to check the coil unless you change it out.

Make sure the connection to the spark plug is good. There is a wire from the crank to the engine with a black rubber that HAS to be connected.
