Pains around the navel could mean a hernia or a blow out belly button. It may also be due to over eatting, viral or bacteria infections, or even a urinary infection. It could be something something simple like gas. Most of these problems are simple and easily treatable though a virus or bacteria infection could be life threatening.

It could be any number of things. If it is a persistent pain then you should visit your doctor to get it checked out. If it is only a passing pain then it is probably nothing serious, probably just a nerve fluttering or something. See your doctor if it lingers.

They might happen due to appendicitis, gastric problems, infection, ulcer problems or inflammatory bowel disease. Consult your gastroenterologist without fail. Treatment varies depending on the type and intensity of cause.

I would highly recommend that you go to a doctor and be tested for appendicitis which starts as a vague uncomfortable feeling around the navel. It could also be gas related to inflammatory bowel disease or even a hernia which has not popped out. Best to see a doctor instead of guessing.
