Nose bleeds can be caused by many variants. The most common causes are injuries to the nose, severe allergies or sinus infections, and in young children stress. Though it's rare, because of the way are ears, nose, eyes, and throat have connected traits, blood from the nose bleed can lightly spread up and out of the tear duct.

Tear ducts are located in the inside corner of each eye. Blood from a tear duct is rare. You cannot have a nosebleed in a tear duct.

This is usually a complication after lacrimal duct surgery. If there is no history of surgery, it needs to be seen by an ophthalmologist.

It would be unusually for a duct to bleed. Theoretically, if a tear duct was infected or involved with a lesion that caused bleeding the connection with the nose could cause a nose bleed. However, it is more likely that a nose bleed is caused from problems involving the nose itself.

This can be the result of a sinus infection in many cases. If the infection is bad enough,, you may see some note from the tear ducts, which are close anatomically to a sinus cavity.

Good question! My mother was bleeding from her nose, ears, and mouth. It was actually blood from the tear ducts that was bleeding through to other places. I'll let you know why once we know!

Sometimes these types of nose bleeds are due to an increased pressure in the head. If the patient starts bleeding from the nose and tear duct I would reccomend getting their blood pressure checked immediatly as this can be the underlying cause. Another cause could be a blocked tear duct which is common in children.

I am a medical coder for emergency rooms. People who are on blood thinners come in all the time with nose bleeds, and eye bleeds, though less common, can be caused by the blood thinners as well. My aunt got severe vision damage because of blood thinners.
