What could be wrong if my labia is swollen and itchy?

If your labia is swollen and itchy, it could be one of a few problems. First off it could be an allergic reaction to a new soap or laundry detergent. If you haven't used anything new, it could be a sign of an infection of some sort.

There are a couple of possibilities, most of which are not serious, but you should definitely consider going to a gynecologist in order to rule out any sexually transmitted diseases. The problem could be as simple as an allergic reaction to a new laundry detergent used to launder your underpants. Another possibility is a bad yeast infection.

This can be a number of problems, you could have an STD, or not be wearing underwear that allows it to breathe properly amonst other things.

A yeast infection, an STD, or irritation. I used scented laundry soap for years, and one day I had the same symptoms--caused by the soap. If it doesn't go away--doctor!

You could have an infection. Check to see if you have any other signs of a yeast infection and if not, see a doctor. It could be something serious or even an STD.
