What could be causing small holes in my yard?

Depending on the size, the culprit is most likely a mole. If it is big, it may be a groundhog or prairie dog, depending on where you live.

It could be animals burrowing and digging. Keep an eye on the holes and see if you can tell what kind of animal is making them.

They are almost certainly being caused by some sort of small, burrowing animals, such as moles. Other possibilities include armadillos and rabbits.
